After months and months of waiting, our second anthology finally has a cover and a release date! It has been a long, laborious process bringing this collection to life, and we are so excited that the wait is coming to an end!
As hard as all the delays and snail-pace progress have been, they've been part of what makes this anthology so special. It hasn't been hastily thrown together or automatically generated. It's marinated and slow-roasted. Careful and thoughtful and human. The time and effort that we've put into this collection, from drafting and painting to editing and prepping, shows. It makes a difference. It makes you want to take your time and savor each story, because someone put their heart and soul into crafting those characters and shaping the story and contemplating the themes.
Each story is its own unique journey. When it came to this anthology, I did something a little different than with Tell Me You Love Me, our first collection. Instead of having a specific idea for the kind of story I wanted (i.e., a Christian romance), all I had was the very vague, general concept of the ocean and adventure. That could mean anything, and it does. Each author had their own idea of a high seas adventure, of discovery, of exploration, of the sea. There are stories about the meaning of life, about trusting God in the storm, about love, about justice, about souls, the list goes on. Ultimately, there's a little something for every kind of reader.
But I digress. We're not here to talk shop. We're here to get the very first look at the paperback and ebook cover for Of Storm & Sea. So, without further ado...

Isn't she lovely? Hand-painted by my dear friend, STLP author, and local artist Em at xkarisart.com, the cover captures the depth and wonder of the sea and the artistic interpretations of each story. It's even better when you see the whole thing (minus the ISBN, that is).

The lighthouse might be my favorite part. It reminds me of the setting of Norah Case's "A Sea of Stories," and the ship calls back to the titular character in "The Vitalis" by Jennifer G. Satnic.
Oh, and we have one more thing to share alongside the cover...the release date!
