content

We want Christian content...and that means your story should

  • present biblically correct theology and doctrine;

  • portray sin and culture through a biblical worldview;

  • not portray dark magic or witchcraft in a positive light;

  • include strong and deep faith themes (i.e., more than just a mention of praying over food or going to a church service).

We encourage stories that showcase God’s work in an individual’s life, whether in the everyday or through a redemption arc, and highlight spiritual growth in the character(s). What that looks like in your story is up to you!

We're all for allegorical fantasy that uses fantastical characters or premises to reflect the Bible (one of the best examples is The Chronicles of Narnia), and for fantasy that actually includes Christianity (like Once I Knew by Victoria Lynn), but not everyone writes fantasy that can accommodate an allegory or incorporate real-world Christianity. So what we look for in fantasy is a story that holds to biblical values and worldview, includes Christian themes like redemption and grace, points the reader to Christ in some way, and ultimately glorifies God.

We want authentic portrayals of sin, evil, and human struggles. We love light and fluffy stories that don't sugarcoat reality, and stories that tackle the tough topics head-on. Whether you addresses hot-button issues like abortion and mental health or dark subject matter like murder and abuse, the manner in which you present these things in your story matters. We want our readers to walk away from the story not depressed but edified, not turned away but turned toward Christ. So any portrayals of sexuality or sexual immorality; violence, gore, war, and murder; verbal, sexual, or domestic abuse; substance abuse; or other forms of sin/darkness must honor God while being presented accurately and honestly.

We don't want stories with explicit sex scenes, profanity, or unnecessary gratuity. Neither are we looking for stories that promote anti-biblical views or non-biblical belief systems.

We're currently open to almost any genre or subject matter, however, we won't accept horror, erotica, LGBTQ+, graphic novels, illustrated children's books, memoirs, biographies, self-help books, essays, or other forms of nonfiction outside of Christian living, devotionals, and Bible studies.

quality

We're looking for excellent stories. Not perfect, but outstanding and high quality. Stories that reflect the skill, talent, thought, and effort of the author. Stories that excel not only creatively, but technically. Stories that are not based on their salability but on execution and quality.

Although we will be working extensively with our authors to polish their stories, we don't accept first drafts. If you would not be comfortable publishing your book in its current state, don't submit it. Continue to write, edit, and revise until you are truly pleased and proud of your product!

We want stories that shine with unique premises, engaging characters, evocative writing styles, and poignant themes. We're here for books that break the mold and showcase the individual flair of the author, books that rely on superb storytelling rather than cliches, books that resonate with us and touch our hearts.
